Speedway bars occupy an important spot in hundreds of thousands of hearts. It’s in these establishments that uncounted Speedway sports and Indianapolis sports fans, especially auto racing fans, have shared war stories, cheered together, tossed back a few together and eventually settled in to relax.
It doesn’t hurt at all that the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home of the two most famous car races in the world, the Indianapolis 500-mile race and the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard, resides in the Indianapolis suburb not coincidentally named “Speedway.” Speedway restaurants definitely benefit from the influx of people during these well-known Speedway attractions, but Speedway bars are the stars.
Below is a list of some of the favorite Speedway bars the fans love to kick back in. You’ll find pub fare to rival many of the great Speedway and Indianapolis restaurants at these establishments, but you’ll also find something more lasting: A spirit of camaraderie.
